Odds & Ends

It’s time for a phone photo dump. The quality isn’t usually that great, but sometimes there are some good shots I like to share. This one was from a few weeks ago – the first time she’s fallen asleep like this. Sometimes she plays so hard, she can barely make it through lunch. She was so out of it, she didn’t even wake up when I picked her up and moved her to her crib. So cute. This coat was super...

Flash Photog

Our apartment can be really dark during the day. Our bedroom gets pretty good lighting, but the rest is usually pretty terrible. I have always hated the way my camera’s built in flash washed out my subject material, so I have made it a point to use it as little as possible. To get around this, some of my camera settings have to be less than ideal for shooting my fast moving toddler. After taking my photography class, I decided to...

Animal Lover

I bought Ellie an inexpensive pack of plastic farm animals the other day and it has proven to be a great investment. She plays with them constantly and loves to practice her animal sounds. One of her favorite things to do is carry them around in a little bowl, and I always smile when I see a little cow or sheep hanging out in her dollhouse. The animals come in tons of different sets called “Toobs.” I found them at Michael’s,...

It’s hosted by one of my favorite photographers/bloggers Under The Sycamore, and so far it has been insightful and easy to follow. People always comment that I “must have a good camera,” which I do, but that isn’t everything. I want to challenge myself to take better composed, better exposed, and just plain better photos in general....

Family Pics

On Labor Day we had family pictures taken. We used a local photographer I found via Facebook, Nicole Miller Photography. She recommended a location here in Hershey (the Milton Hershey School), and we set a date. Little did we know it would be about 94 degrees with 85% humidity that day. We’ve had the most beautiful summer, so it figures. Thankfully you can’t tell that we were sweating like crazy, my hair felt stuck to my forehead, and poor Ted...

Photo Art

Ted and I have done a lot of traveling in the past couple years. I tend to take a ton of photos and usually end up with at least a couple I want to frame from every trip. The problem with that is that I’m running out of wall space for everything. There are a couple solutions to this problem I’m considering. One would be something like this. I could do a wall in our basement or the guest bedroom...
