A Kitchen and Living Room Redo

July 2, 2019

I recently completed an e-design client and wanted to share. The existing furniture wasn’t taking advantage of the space and the fireplace was feeling outdated and like not enough of a focal point.

The kitchen cabinets are in good condition, but also feel outdated and the finish is turning orange-y. All of the flooring is just builder grade and bland.

This is where the floor plan ended up.

A sectional definitely allows for a lot more seating in the living room.

With this plan, the existing fireplace can be painted out and new tile added to the firebox. The built-ins flanking the fireplace can be accomplished by using a mixture of pre made cabinets with custom built shelving above. By trimming these to the floor and ceiling and painting everything out a deep navy, this is sure to make an amazing focal point in the room. It’s also a lot of great added storage and display space!

For the kitchen and dining area, I sent facelift options 1 and 2. The client sent back her revision requests and this is where we landed.

Armed with a complete plan, my client can work on the remodel one step at a time with a clear vision for the end results.

That’s a benefit of e-design – you can work at your own pace to implement the plan as time and budget allow. If you want to learn more about my process, you can visit my etsy page here!
