Master Bedroom – Finally

June 19, 2019

Finally is the word of the day. I finally got this blog back online after a long maternity leave and some technical issues. And I’m finally working on finishing my own master bedroom. We have been in our house for three years this month and I had yet to do a single thing to our master bedroom. I currently spend as little awake time as possible in this room because being there just reminds me of unfinished business.

Let’s look at where we’re starting. The only place we could fit our bed is in front of the triple window. There are an abundance of doors in this room, which makes things challenging, but I know it can look better. I have some things on order and have some projects to do, but it’s moving along.

An abundance of doors. The one on the right is the door to the hallway, and the other two are small closets.

These photos are from the real estate listing. We lived with it painted a dark charcoal gray for a few years, but I decided I wanted to brighten things up. The windows face north and west, so there isn’t much sun until quite late in the day.

Which leads me to this. I am still working on art and accessories, but I wanted to get all the larger pieces ordered before dealing with those things. I spent a couple afternoons last week painting the whole room white, and am slowly getting everything put back together. I can’t wait to finish it up!
